During my first pregnancy, I remember being totally lost and confused about what to eat. “Dr. Google” told me to avoid foods like raw fish, soft cheeses, deli meats and runny eggs.

 

But often I would find myself craving those exact foods. 

 

Or, the first trimester nausea would hit, mixed with pangs of hunger, and I never knew what would settle my stomach or feel truly satiating. Nothing seemed appealing.

 

And then the cherry on the top - a diagnosis of Gestational Diabetes. My food choices seemed so limited, and I was constantly counting carbs while worrying that the foods I ate could possibly harm my baby.

 

Neither my doctor nor my dietitian were giving me helpful guidance around food. It was super frustrating, and I knew there must be a better way.
